The Connection Center

Finding someone who understands can change everything.

CMT4C is rare. Connection does not have to be. This is a personal starting point for families and adults affected by CMT4C—and by every form of CMT.

Personal

Requests are read by Jack’s family, not posted to a public directory.

Welcoming

CMT4C-centered, with room for every CMT type and every stage of the journey.

Thoughtful

Introductions happen gradually, with privacy and each person’s comfort in mind.

Choose the door that feels most like you.

We are beginning with reviewed requests and personal introductions. As the community grows, its members will help decide whether it needs group conversations, virtual gatherings, or a private adult message space.

01

Parents & caregivers

Meet other adults navigating diagnosis, treatment, mobility, school, family life, and the emotional weight of CMT.

Choose “A parent or caregiver” in the request below.
02

Adults living with CMT

Connect around independence, work, relationships, mobility, progression, and the realities only lived experience can explain.

Choose “An adult living with CMT” in the request below.
03

Youth & family connections

Parents can request introductions to other families and find established, moderated opportunities for young people with CMT.

A parent or legal guardian should submit the request.

Connection—with family involved.

Young people deserve friends who understand braces, falls, appointments, frustration, and everything else that can come with CMT. For now, youth introductions through CMT4C Together begin with a parent or legal guardian.

Families can also explore the CMTA’s established youth programs, including its moderated Youth Group, youth activities, and Camp Footprint.

What we ask of everyone.

Protect privacy. Share your own experience, and ask before sharing someone else’s story or images.

Offer experience, not prescriptions. What helped one person may not be right for another.

Lead with respect. No harassment, pressure, unsolicited fundraising, or discrimination.

Keep youth contact family-led. Adults should never privately contact an unrelated young person through this project.

Tell us who you hope to meet.
